LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

The highly anticipated reincarnation of “90210” will not be screened for television critics and reporters before the show premieres on September 2, Access Hollywood has learned.

“The CW and our studio partner CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen ‘90210’ for any media in advance of its premiere,” the network said in a statement released to Access.

The CW was quick to nix any notion that withholding screeners for the press had anything to do with the quality of the show.

“We’re not hiding anything, simply keeping a lid on ‘90210’ until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time,” the statement went on to say.

The absence of an advance look at the new series is yet another surprise for fans. In May, The CW hinted that original series alum, Tori Spelling, would return to the famous zip code, saying in a press release, “Donna Martin will be the owner of one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills, a shopping spot that is frequented by the new cast of characters.”

But last week, the network announced Tori’s return was not finalized, telling Access, “The CW has no deal with Tori Spelling to appear on ‘90210’ at this time.”

Be the judge of the new “90210” for yourself, when it debuts on The CW on September 2.
