Jailed Rapper Shyne Denies Making Peace With Diddy

Moses Levi, the rapper known as Shyne, saw his career cut short when he was jailed on a 10-year-sentence on charges related to a 1999 incident also involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez.

Diddy – then known as “Puff Daddy” – was acquitted, and with Shyne’s sentence now finished, the rapper has denied that his former mentor spoke with him recently to clear the air.

Puff Daddy… Puffy…. P.Diddy and now… just Diddy – Sean Combs is one of the richest names in the hip-hop music world, and one of the most controversial. “Diddy” was born in New York City and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. Despite a lifelong association with street life he actually attended exclusive private schools.

Always known as a hustler who gets the job done in all of his business endeavors, Sean got his start in the music world when he went to work as an intern for Uptown Records where he worked his way up to Vice President of A&R before eventually forming his own production company called “Bad Boy Entertainment.”

Back in 1997, Bad Boy’s biggest money earner was the rapper Notorious B.I.G. On March 9th, after leaving a Vibe magazine party in LA’s Miracle Mile District, B.I.G. was gunned down. This happened six months after a West Coast rapper, Tupac Shakur, had been gunned down in Las Vegas, leaving many to speculate that both of their deaths were due to a West Coast / East Coast music label war.

Diddy was one of “Biggie’s” closest friends, and his friend’s death has always motivated Combs to keep on achieving great things. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and LL Cool J.

His personal life has been marked with brushes with the law over firearm violations and lawsuits alleging physical violence. He’s had an off-again / on-again relation for years with a woman named Kim Porter, with whom he had twins in 2006. They also have an adopted son and another biological son together. In total, Diddy has seven children.
