ABC Not Worried About 'Grey's Anatomy' Star Contracts; 'Revenge' Could Move Out Of Hamptons

Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey’s contracts to play “Grey’s Anatomy’s” most famous couple, Meredith and Derek, are up at the end of the current season, but ABC entertainment president Paul Lee said he’s not worried.

“We don’t have any comments about those contracts,” Lee said when asked on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association Winter 2012 Session in Pasadena. “’Grey’s’ came roaring back. It’s, creatively, still at the top of its form, and [creator] Shonda Rhimes has a vision like nobody else.”

Lee said the network has faith in Shonda’s future “Grey’s” plans, which were being kept under wraps.

“She knows what she’s doing and she knows where she’s going,” he continued. “We’ve heard her vision, not just for the end of the season, but for beyond and it’s really, really strong.”

Beyond talk of “Grey’s,” Lee confirmed that “Revenge,” the drama starring Emily VanCamp and Madeline Stowe may indeed leave the Hamptons as their set locale in the future, as was originally talked about when the show was first being promoted in the summer.

“It is,” Lee said, when a reporter asked about the potential exiting of the seaside community. “I don’t want to give anything away about a show that people sort of sit on the edge of their seats [to watch], but yes, it is in the cards.”

In related ABC news, Lee confirmed once again that “Cougar Town” will be back in March, but declined to announce a date.
