CHICAGO, IL --
She’s rarely at a loss for words on her television show, but just moments before Barack Obama was declared the President-Elect, Oprah Winfrey was almost speechless.
“There are not even words to talk about what this night means,” an elated Oprah told Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos in an exclusive interview set to air on Access on Wednesday. “Everybody keeps using the word historic — there’s never been a night like this on the planet earth… Nothing can compare to this.”
Speaking from the Obama Election Night gathering in Chicago’s Grant Park, the TV titan, who has campaigned for Obama, told Maria she was extremely moved by the whole day. But she was especially teary as she cast her ballot.
“I got very emotional, but I was voting with a bunch of people who were very excited that I was voting with them,” Oprah said. “I wanted to start singing… ‘America the Beautiful’ and I got very emotional.”
