The King of Pop will live on forever. The gravity-defying moonwalk, the sequined glove, the cropped pants, and black loafers – Michael defined my generation. I can document my life by his music. When the news broke of his sudden death, I (like the rest of the world) was stunned, shocked and saddened – now a week later, I still can’t believe Michael Jackson is gone!
When I returned home from work on June 25, I told my 14-year-old daughter about his death. …To which she replied, “Why are you upset about him? Isn’t he the creepy guy who slept with young boys?”
My daughter’s reaction shocked me!
While, I am not here to debate Michael’s addiction to painkillers, his questionable relationship with children, or his gasp-worthy plastic surgery, I do believe there are many life lessons we as parents can pass on to our children about Michael’s complicated and seemingly very lonely life.

BURBANK, Calif.
Ashley Ferl, the little blonde girl who gained national fame by breaking down in hysterics after watching Sanjaya Malakar perform on season six of “American Idol,” made her own play for singing stardom yesterday.
Ferl, dubbed ‘Crying Girl’ for her uncontrollable tears over Sanjaya, turned 16 this year, making her eligible to try out for the competition. She and 11,000 other hopefuls hit the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California for round one of the season nine auditions. She was among the first in line outside of the Rose Bowl gates.

LOS ANGELES, Calif
Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush is set to host the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant alongside “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Deal or No Deal” star Claudia Jordan in the Bahamas on August 29.
Billy most recently hosted the Miss USA competition in Las Vegas in April, where 22-year-old Kristen Dalton from North Carolina won the title, beating out competition from runner-up, then-Miss California, Carrie Prejean.

Access Hollywood’s own Nancy O’Dell has completed the SELF Magazine Challenge with close friend and actress Holly Robinson-Peete. The challenge was taken up by many to help achieve a variety of goals from weight loss and healthy eating to toning up and trying new activities. It helped Nancy stay motivated since she injured her knee on “Dancing With the Stars,” and knew her biggest hurdle would be easing back into exercise.

Fans who missed “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” the first time around are in luck, the pop star is bringing her wildly successful tour back to North America.
Currently touring Europe, Britney will return to North America this August to perform in 20 cities, kicking off the new North American leg of her tour in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Madonna’s adoption lawyer in Malawi, Alan Chinula, tells Access Hollywood that online rumors of Malawi’s high court changing their tune and allowing Madonna to adopt a young girl named Mercy are, “not true at all.”
Chinula said that the judges in Malawi are not happy about this report out there on the Web. Specifically he said that, “The Chief Justice is not very amused,” and that, “We’re very unhappy about it.”

On Tuesday morning, the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8 — the gay marriage ban passed back in November 2008 — and on Tuesday night some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities joined thousands of protesters in the streets of West Hollywood to voice their anger, frustration and hope of a future overturning of the proposition.
