Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Confirms Pregnancy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Pregnancy rumors and baby bump photos have been common for French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy recently and now the singer / actress has confirmed that’s she’s pregnant.

The 43-year-old told French Newspaper Nice-Matin (via People) that her pregnancy is “coming happiness, unexpected and unhoped for.”

She remained mum on rumors that she is expecting a boy with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

“That, I don’t even know myself. There are certain things which one should keep secret,” she told the paper.

She also remained vague about her due date – some have said she is over 5 months along.

Carla, who recently appeared in Woody Allen’s latest movie, “Midnight in Paris,” with Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams, said she is also hard at work on a new album. She was previously was featured on the soundtrack to “(500) Days of Summer.”

The French President has three sons from his two previous marriages and last year became a grandfather. Carla also has a 10-year-old son, Aurelian, from a previous relationship.

Carla became the First Lady of France in 2008.
