Alexa Vega was beaming when she stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday – almost as much as the rock on her finger from fiance Calos Pena.
The actress dished on how her “Big Time Rush” guy popped the question.
“We are like old people, so we like to [go on cruises] a lot. We were on a cruise… with 25 of our friends. He proposed the first night at dinner,” the 25-year-old told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.
As for her engagement ring, Carlos helped create it.
“He had been designing the ring for months,” she said, showing off the sparkler.
The actress explained that she was surprised that she fell for Carlos – at least when it comes to his physicality.
“Carlos was the exact opposite of what I would go for. All the other guys I’ve ever dated were over 6’ 3”. The guy I dated right before Carlos was 6’ 9” and they were all tall, lanky, white guys and never actors,” she said. “And Carlos is a small, Latin, hot, fiery man.”
Adding, “He’s amazing and he really pushes me to best level, which is very important.”
The actress also discussed her upcoming role in “Machete Kills” (which opens in theaters on October 11), where her sexy leather chaps ensemble is sure to shake off any notion of Alexa being thought of a child star.
“It’s hard to make that transition from a kid to more grownup roles and I think with this character, we’re not taking ourselves too seriously,” the actress, who got her start in the “Spy Kids” series, said of the Robert Rodriguez movie. “We’re having a lot of fun with it, yes it’s sexy, but it’s exciting. And it’s not raunchy. It’s campy fun.”
