All Four Celebrity Coaches To Return To 'The Voice'
One day after Javier Colon was crowned the inaugural champ of NBC’s new hit reality show, “The Voice,” the network announced that all four celebrity coaches will return for Season 2.
Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton will once again find themselves turning around their chairs and working with aspiring musicians when “The Voice” returns for a second season, NBC revealed on Thursday.
“Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of ‘The Voice’ this year and we are thrilled that they are all returning,” Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios, said. “We look forward to building season two and making ‘The Voice’ an even greater experience for fans.”
On Wednesday night, Javier Colon – a member of Adam Levine’s team – beat out runner-up Dia Frampton of Team Blake Shelton to take the title as the first winner of “The Voice.”
In doing so, Colon will receive a $100,000 recording contract.
Thank you,” a teary-eyed Colon said after learning the news from show host, Carson Daly on Wednesday evening. “I don’t even know where to begin other than to say the three women behind me are absolutely awesome and it was a pleasure to be here.
“I want to thank everybody at home who believed in me and voted for me,” he added as the show closed.
Auditions will soon be underway for Season 2 and “The Voice” will return to the airwaves mid-season in 2012, NBC revealed.
