Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard is a proud new mom.

Beard and her husband, photographer Sacha Brown, welcomed their first child – a boy – on Tuesday, according to People.

Blaise Ray Brown was born in Los Angeles, weighing 7 lbs., 12 oz., and was 19 inches long.

Kristen Bell, who voices the anonymous blogger narrating the CW teen drama, says she hopes to make an appearance someday. The 29-year-old “Veronica Mars” and “Heroes” actress said she has asked executive producer Josh Schwartz to work her into an upcoming episode.

The U.S. men’s and women’s swimming team took to the stage like true superstars at a media press conference at the Main Press Center in Beijing on Wednesday.

The USOC started by bringing out the team’s two biggest stars – Michael Phelps and Dara Torres.

The duo was then replaced on stage by teammates Aaron Peirsol, Ryan Lochte, Brendan Hansen, Katie Hoff, Eric Shanteau & Natalie Coughlin.

And, everyone seemed to have an opinion about teammate Amanda Beard’s racy new naked ad for PETA.

If U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard wanted to attract a little attention for her cause, she’s done it. She caused quite a splash in Beijing Wednesday morning when she unveiled her new naked PETA ad.

She had to improvise when Chinese authorities banned Beard from her original press conference site – forcing a Plan B – a chaotic quickly-organized gathering outside of the athletes’ Olympic Village.

Amanda Beard is set to appear naked before the world in an advertising campaign protesting the wearing of fur as fashion.

The 26-year-old gold medal winner, who appeared in Playboy magazine in 2007, will be featured in a campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) debuting on Wednesday at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, just two days before the start of the Games, Reuters reports.
