It appears Sam Lutfi is out to set the record straight and he’s hired a former Federline confidant to help him tell his tale.

Michael Sands, the former spokesperson for Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is now representing Lutfi, Sands confirmed in an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood.

"I'm really honored to represent a true American hero who's a standup guy and goes the distance. I'm grateful and humbled by the opportunity to represent a young man of Sam Lutfi's caliber,” Sands told Access. “He is a person who has integrity. What an act of God that he came to me.”

Earlier this week, Lutfi was the target of a restraining order filed by Britney’s parents, Jamie and Lynne, filled with sordid accusations against Lufti.

Kaplan reportedly fired Sands late last week.
