‘American Idol’ Auditions Announced

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Just a short time removed from Kris Allen’s coronation as the new “American Idol,” the search for his successor is about to begin.

Auditions for the ninth season of “Idol” will kick off June 14 in Boston, FOX announced on Tuesday.

“Once again, hopefuls will have the incredible opportunity to audition in cities across the country to become the next ‘American Idol,’” the network said in a statement.

Auditions will be held in the following cities:

Boston: June 14Atlanta: June 18Los Angeles: June 30Orlando: July 9Denver: July 14

Dates in Chicago and Dallas will be announced at a later date.
