There is a new “American Idol.”
(Spoiler Alert: This story contains the results of Wednesday’s “American Idol” finale.)
Caleb Johnson beat out his pal Jena Irene to take the Season 13 trophy.
The Asheville, NC, 23-year-old rocker had very little to say after scooping the top prize, but he did tell the crowd, “Thank you guys so much.”
Host Ryan Seacrest handed Caleb the mic to perform his single, “As Long As You Love Me,” but Caleb took a minute before getting into his song when his friends from Season 13 rushed the stage to embrace him.
“Congratulations,” Randy Jackson said as confetti covered the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, where the finale was held.
The “American Idol” Season 13 finale was a big night on Fox and featured performances by KISS, John Legend, Phillip Phillips, Demi Lovato and the three judges – Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.
