‘American Idol’s’ Jim Verraros To Wed Boyfriend

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Jim Verraros at the iCandy in Los Angeles, California in 2006“American Idol” Season 1 finalist Jim Verraros is walking down the aisle with boyfriend Bill Brennan this Sunday in Oak Brook, Illinois.

The couple, who have been dating for four years after meeting on MySpace, announced their nuptials on their wedding Web site.

Though same-sex marriage is not legal in Illinois, the former “Idol” contestant is hopeful laws will change in the future.

“I knew with Bill that I wanted to ‘marry,’ him. I put ‘marry,’ only because, sadly it isn’t legal in Illinois yet, but we’re hopeful that the time is near,” Jim wrote on his Web site. “This wedding is a culmination of our lives so far, and our lives from this point onward. It is so imperative to the both of us that our friends and family see just how in love we are, and how happy we are to share it with everyone.”

In addition to “Idol,” Jim also appeared in 2004’s “Eating Out” and its sequel in 2006. Jim is also still singing. He released “Rollercoaster” in 2005 and two new singles in 2009, “Touch (Don’t U Want 2)” and “Electric Love” from his forthcoming album, “Do Not Disturb.”
