LONDON, England --

Despite the very public roller coaster ride of Amy Winehouse’s personal life, the British singer appears to be focusing on what she does best — music.

For starters, the raven-haired soul singer was nominated for three Ivor Novello Awards earlier this week, an honor which recognizes the best in British songwriting and composing talent.

Winehouse told People, the nominations and her previous wins were touching.

“Winning Ivors for my songwriting have been some of the best moments in my music career,” she said. “I’m overwhelmed to be nominated three times, let alone twice in the same category.”

But, after a year filled with substance abuse and the incarceration of her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, could the Ivor Novello nominations be a sign that Amy has her life back on track?

According to the singer the timing of the honor is pitch perfect.

”[It has] come at a great time too,” Amy added. “I’m excited to be back at work in the studio, enjoying songwriting and making music again.”

Winehouse has been nominated for her songs “Love Is a Losing Game,” “You Know I’m No Good,” and “Rehab.” Her anthem about avoiding the pull of a treatment facility is up against, Beyonce and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar” and Mika’s “Grace Kelly” for best-selling British song.

The Ivor Novello Awards will be handed out in London on May 22.
