Angelina Jolie's Favorite Sweet Treat! (Healthy Hollywood)
Just when you thought you got a handle on your 2014 diet resolution, then comes last night’s Super Bowl chow fest.
Many football fans felt unsatisfied by last night’s Seattle Seahawks’ crushing of the Denver Broncos. So, hopefully, the company and the plates piled high with high-calorie eats helped ease the underwhelming game action – especially for you Denver fans.
Yet, if you’re still hungry for one post-game treat, Healthy Hollywood caught up with sweet treat royalty, Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagnel, creators of Georgetown Cupcakes.
“There is something really personal about cupcakes – they are a single serving, just for you. We try to decorate our cupcakes whimsically so they are little pieces of edible art,” the ladies explained.
Georgetown Cupcakes are a favorite of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Plus, the gals, who also star on TLC’s “DC Cupcakes,” have helped the toothpaste giant, Crest launch Crest Be, which tastes and smells like frosting.
And, if you’re so inspired, to get in the kitchen and whip up a batch for friends and family, the ladies shared a few pointers to making the most awesome cupcakes ever!
3 Tips for Baking Delicious Cupcakes:
- Use the best and freshest ingredients possible. When you bake with really good butter and chocolate and fresh fruits, it makes the world of difference in taste. If you can splurge on really great chocolate, go for it – it’s worth it!
- Don’t over mix your batter. Sometimes people think that more mixing is better, but you really want to be gentle with your cupcake batter. After you cream together your butter and sugar, mix as little as possible, because you want to keep as much air in your batter as possible – and that will make your cupcakes light and fluffy and not brick-like.
- Always err on the side of under-baking. Remember that cupcakes continue to bake in the pan even after you take them out of the oven. The worst thing to do is leave them in the oven too long because once you over-bake, it’s too late, and you end up with dry cupcakes.
