LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
As you all know by now, there’s nothing I like more than designer collaborations with budget friendly retailers. And here’s a new one that’s both budget and environmentally friendly. In conjunction with Earth Day tomorrow, designers Scott Mackinlay Hahn and Rogan Gregory of “Loomstate” have just launched the eco-chic line for women and men, “Loomstate for Target.”
“When the Target opportunity came along I thought this is perfect because now our aesthetic is accessible to a much broader audience,” Rogan says. And the celebrities agree! Adrian Grenier, Jaime Pressly, Anna Faris, Kristen Bell and Camila Alves all came out to support the launch of the line which features 100% organic cotton.
According to Scott, “The design mirrors what we’re doing at a higher price point. When you get to the volumes that we work with at Target they can still achieve a lot of the detail that we need to bring to the product.” In other words, the designers didn’t sacrifice quality for quantity. In fact, the “Loomstate for Target” line features signatures from “Loomstate” like the pelican logo and a shade of aqua, which they use as reminders to always tread lightly on the earth.
The collection features iconic t-shirts with graphics inspired by nature, authentic washed denim and relaxed favorites such as hoodies, board shorts and dresses. As for the designers’ favorite pieces, for Scott it’s the bikini featuring the pelican brief. For Rogan, it’s a knit t-shirt dress for the women (worn by Amber Valletta at the party) and board shorts for the men.
The “Loomstate for Target” collection ranges in price from $14.99 to $44.99 in comparison with the “Loomstate” high-end line, which can cost over $200. Check it out at Target stores or at www.target.com.
