He was the breakout male star of “Bridesmaids,” and now, a real life wedding is in Irish actor Chris O’Dowd’s future.
“I guess he liked it, coz he put a ring on it #engaged,” the actor’s now-fiancee, British television personality Dawn Porter, 32, Tweeted on Thursday.
The actor also hit Twitter to talk about the news on Thursday, writing, “I’m so bored of all this happiness and sex. I’m getting married. #engaged.”
Chris, 32, proposed on December 26, during the couple’s trip to British Isle, Guernsey (the area where Dawn grew up), she revealed on Twitter.
“At Havelet Bay on boxing day. Very happy x,” she Tweeted to a fan who asked about the proposal location. (Havelet Bay is a beach locale on Guernsey.)
The wedding news prompted a slew of well wishes for the couple online, leaving the actor a very happy man.
“Aw, thanks for all the congrats guys. Feelin the twitter love today. Very happy & lucky boy. #engaged,” he wrote on Thursday.
Chris’ next U.S. film, set for release in 2012, is the comedy “Frankie Go Boom,” also starring “Sons of Anarchy’s” Ron Perlman and “Whitney’s” Whitney Cummings.
