The Queen of Soul has thanked her fans as she prepared to undergo surgery.

Aretha Franklin expressed her gratitude to fans and public officials who held a prayer vigil for the singer in Detroit on Wednesday.

“Thanks to the City Council for their prayer vigil. And, many thanks to the City for their support. All prayers are good!” Aretha said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

According to the Associated Press, the 68-year-old singer will undergo a medical procedure today. Details of Franklin’s surgery have not been disclosed.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, last month Franklin announced that she was canceling all concert dates and personal appearances through May.
