BEIJING, China --
“This was an incredible day,” gymnast Jonathan Horton told Access Hollwood’s Shaun Robinson on Tuesday, following the U.S. Men’s Gymnastics team’s tremendously unexpected bronze medal win.
“We’re just trying to prove to the world that we’re a great team.”
It was the team’s first interview since their big win. With the Hamm brothers (Paul & Morgan) both out with injuries, this team was not expected to medal. None of the six guys had ever been to the Olympics before.
“Bronze is actually like gold for you guys for this game, don’t you think,” Shaun asked.
“This has been a gold medal effort, you know,” replied team member Raj Bhavsar. “It’s just a tremendous honor to do this.”
“I’d say we knew that we could (do this),” Jonathan continued. ”And nobody else did — we were the only ones. That’s what makes this so special. ‘Cause in our hearts we’re going, ‘Guys, if we do our job, we can medal.’”
“So do you all feel like superstars now,” Shaun asked.
“I guess we’re feeling pretty good,” Jonathan said.
But, let’s face it – these guys aren’t exactly hard on the eyes off the mat either.
“We have a lot of female watchers on our show, and a lot of them are noticing how hot you guys are,” Shaun said, pointing out the obvious.
“So we want to know, who has the biggest arms?… And, who’s the charmer?”
To find out those answers (and to see the guns in question) tune into Access Hollywood Tuesday night!
