LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is so excited for his former “Saved By The Bell” co-star Dustin Diamond’s tell-all book that he’s started dishing dirt himself.

“Was I in a club at 16, smoking cigarettes, taking a drink from people? Yeah I was!” Mark-Paul, who played Zack Morris on the late ‘80s-early ‘90s show, told the Los Angeles Times. “I did the thing that normal kids do. Did I go to house parties and do keg stands and beer bongs? That’s what kids do!”

Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on the show and its spin-offs, is working on “Behind the Bell,” a tell-all which will cover the cast’s alleged sex lives and drug use, according to Publishers Marketplace.

“He’s going to tell all the dirty laundry that was in ‘Saved By The Bell,’” Mark-Paul said. “I can’t wait!”

The star, whose latest role is in TNT legal drama “Raising the Bar,” which debuts on Monday, says that his past escapades were under less scrutiny than those of young stars now.

“I didn’t live in a bubble, but I was a normal kid,” he said. “We didn’t have paparazzi. Nowadays these kids are trying to have an ounce of normalcy and they have a camera in their face.”

But despite his admitted youthful adventures, Mark-Paul has become a successful post-“Bell” actor, with roles in “NYPD Blue” and the canceled “Commander in Chief” and “John From Cincinnati.” He’s also married and the father of two kids, with the couple celebrating their twelfth wedding anniversary over the weekend.

“Our weekends are pretty quiet with two kids,” he said. “We try to get a baby-sitter for one of the nights and go to a nice restaurant. We’re in that phase of our lives — the kids are that age where we’re taking vacations together now.”
