LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

He won thousands of Guy Candy fans as Troy Bolton in “High School Musical” and this weekend Zac Efron is bound to earn a few more thanks to a thrilling performance in the beloved musical “Hairspray.”

Super-cute Zac brings his baby blues to the big screen as Link Larkin, The Corny Collins Show’s hottest dancer.

The girls of “Hairspray” can hardly resist his greased up ‘60s coif and heart-melting hip sways and neither can the fans. Zac’s all-American good looks and growing sense of style have made him a major draw for Guy Candy lovers.

“I’m getting there, I’m getting there,” he told Access of becoming accustomed to the love he’s getting from fans. “It’s crazy. I can’t believe, every time all these fans show up. I’m so grateful, you know. [I’m] stoked!”

Zac Efron may be just months away from leaving his teen years (he turns 20 in October), but his acting future remains very bright. While Shia LaBeouf is taking on “Indiana Jones 4,” Efron looks to be taking on the Kevin Bacon classic – “Footloose!”

“’Footloose’ --it was an idea that a few friends brought to me. The idea that they had and presented to me was gonna be very different and original, new and exciting. I love what they were thinking about doing with the film,” he revealed to Access.

And in classic Efron fashion, he’ll be making the new “Footloose,” full of singing.

“It’s going to be a full blown musical and that’s the basic idea that we have,” he said. “We’re gonna take that and run with it, you know. What changes when you have to sing like five more songs in the movie? A lot.”
