MALIBU, Calif. --
Barron Hilton, the 18-year-old brother of Paris, was arrested in Malibu at 8:04 AM this morning and booked for suspicion of DUI, Access Hollywood has learned.
He was booked at the LASD's Lost Hills station, and bail is set for $5,000. He is listed at 6'1" and 143 lbs and his charge level was a misdemeanor.
LASD Public Information Officer Steve Whitmore confirmed to Access that Barron blew a .14 blood alcohol reading.
According to information obtained from the Sheriff’s office, deputies received a call about a black Mercedes “weaving on the roadway and at times driving on the wrong side of the highway.”
The person who called authorities “followed the erratic vehicle until the driver stopped… and got out of the car,” according to the Sheriff’s office. At that point, the witness “contacted [Hilton] and had him sit on a bus bench” until deputies arrived.
According to deputies, Hilton also had a female passenger in the vehicle and “apparently the female was driving the Mercedes prior to Hilton and was possibly involved in a collision.”
The investigation involving the female passenger is being handled by the California Highway Patrol. When contacted by Access Hollywood, a spokesperson for CHP was not immediately available for comment.
According to a report by People, Hilton was also charged with carrying a fake driver’s license.
The DUI charge is a misdemeanor; the more serious charge is carrying a fake license, which is a felony.
