Judge Pleased With Mel Gibson's Behavior

MALIBU, Calif. --

Mel Gibson arrived to a Malibu courthouse on Wednesday for his final progress hearing related to his misdemeanor DUI case.

Accompanied by his attorney, Blair Berk, Gibson went before the judge, who was pleased with the actor’s behavior in the wake of his notorious anti-Semitic tirade during his arrest in Malibu for DUI in July 2006.

While Gibson still has 18 months left from his 36-month probation, the judge said no further progress reports would be required.

According to an Access Hollywood source on the scene, the judge complimented Gibson and said he was pleased with his progress so far.

Upon his arrival, Mel was reportedly escorted into the courtroom by four uniformed deputies.

The group did their best to avoid the swarms of photographers awaiting Gibson’s arrival, by entering through a secure parking lot in the back of the building.
