LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Ryan Reynolds ready to showcase his super powers. Orlando Bloom enlists for an “Education.” Plus, Beyonce hops into the driver’s seat in a new “Cadillac.” It’s all in the latest edition of the Access Hollywood Casting Call!
Ryan Reynolds, will.i.am and “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch have all signed on to join the cast of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” alongside Hugh Jackman, according to Variety.
Reynolds will play Deadpool, a maniacal killer with self-healing powers who goes after Wolverine, while Kitsch steps into the role of fan favorite mutant Gambit and will.i.am will play a teleporting mutant by the name of John Wraith.
The role marks the feature film debut for the Black Eyed Peas frontman.
Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston and Lynn Collins were previously announced as cast members for the latest installment in the “X-Men” film franchise.
For Kitsch, the role of Gambit could evolve into its own spin-off film, depending how popular the role is among moviegoers.
“Wolverine” is slated to open May 1, 2009.

Orlando Bloom and Alfred Molina will join the cast of “An Education,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
The duo joins Peter Sarsgaard, Emma Thompson, Rosumund Pike and Olivia Williams in the coming-of-age film set in London in the 1960s.
The film centers on a smart and pretty 17-year-old (played by up-and-comer Casey Mulligan) who gets swept off her feet by an unlikely thirtysomething (Sarsgaard), who gives her a glimpse of the high life.
No word yet on Bloom or Molina’s roles.
Filming is scheduled to begin in London in the spring.

Beyonce has signed on to star in and executive produce “Cadillac Records,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Grammy winner will play legendary songstress Etta James in the film.
Set in the 1950s, “Cadillac” centers on the Chicago record company, Chess Records, and its founder, Leonard Chess, as it chronicles the tough times of some of the label’s most notable names, including Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Chuck Berry.
Beyonce joins an already impressive cast, which includes Adrien Brody (Chess), Jeffrey Wright (Waters), Emmanuelle Chriqui and Cedric the Entertainer.
The R&B songstress, who will also record four songs for the soundtrack, will donate a portion of her salary from the film to the Survivor Foundation, her family’s charity which helps recovering addicts.
Beyonce’s other film credits include “Dreamgirls,” “The Pink Panther” and “Austin Powers in Goldmember.”
*****
Kelsey Grammer will once again step into the role of Ebenezer Scrooge for the indie film, “An American Carol,” per Variety.
Grammer will play a modern-day Scrooge in the film, which reportedly spoofs Hollywood culture.
He previously played the infamous holiday cheapskate in the NBC-Hallmark TV movie “A Christmas Carol” in 2004.
Next up for Grammer on the big screen is the comedy “Swing Vote,” co-starring Kevin Costner and Dennis Hopper.
