Rep: Nicole Kidman Did Not Drink At Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Nicole Kidman’s rep has denied a report that the pregnant star drank wine at last week’s Oscars.

Cindy Adams wrote in her New York Post column on Tuesday, "boozing backstage during the Oscarcast is a no-no. But if you're pregnant Nicole Kidman it's a yes-yes. She wanted white wine. She got it."

However, a rep for the Australian actress quickly issued a statement shooting down the report.

"Not true," the rep told Us Weekly. "She drank lemon zinger and water and was nursing a very bad cold."

In fact, sources tell Access Hollywood that Kidman stayed in a backstage Oscars dressing room for most of the night, because of her cold.

Meanwhile, in related news, a celebrity photographer lost a defamation case against an Australian newspaper, which he claimed had accused him of harassing the "Moulin Rouge" star, according to the BBC.

The Australian Supreme Court claimed it was not defamatory that a newspaper wrote that photographer Jamie Fawcett wanted "to wreak havoc" on Kidman’s private life.

He was ordered to pay the newspaper’s legal costs as a result of the ruling.
