LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Miley… Hannah… Destiny — hey, she's just being Miley — and she'd like everyone else to call her that now too!

"My family had always called me Miley and my dad called me Miley Ray," Miley told Access Hollywood of plans to change her name.

Miley, who was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, is looking to drop Destiny Hope in favor of officially going by "Miley Ray Cyrus," according to documents obtained by Access.

Additionally, Miley is about to get behind the wheel and would like to stick to just one name.

"I am getting my license, so instead of having a thousand different names on it, just having Miley Ray, which is also kind of cool because my name and my dad's names look alike," the Disney star added.

The petition, which was filed by her parents Leticia and Billy Ray Cyrus, states that the "Hannah Montana" star wants to "make her commonly used name the same as her legal name."

Miley is also required to publish a public notice referring to her name change before it becomes legal.
