LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
“The Hills” are alive with the sound of great ratings.
The season premiere of the popular MTV reality show netted the highest rating of the year in cable television among 12-34 year olds.
Over 4.8 million people tuned in to watch Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port take on Paris and Heidi Montag take on Spencer Pratt. So many people tuned in that “The Hills” even beat out broadcast television for the evening.
Monday night’s episode also beat out “The Hills” season 3 premiere, bringing in 37% more viewers.
And it appears fans couldn’t get enough online as well. The day the episode hit MTV.com it netted 2.2 million streams.
