LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Ashlee Simpson is engaged to her rocker beau Pete Wentz, a rep for the rocker confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged,” Simpson wrote in a post on FriendsorEnemies.com.

Simpson and Wentz, the bassist in emo-rocking sensations Fall Out Boy, have been dating since 2006.

“Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us,” Simpson’s post continued. “ We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us.”

Us Weekly reported Simpson may be pregnant. However, a rep for the pop star had no comment.
