LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

It’s been a busy week for the newly engaged Ashlee Simpson.

In addition to promoting her new album, “Bittersweet World,” the singer has been bombarded with questions about whether or not she is pregnant.

While Us Weekly, People magazine and OK! have all quoted sources close to the singer claiming she is expecting her first child with rocker Pete Wentz, the bassist himself told MTV News, if there was a pregnancy, “This is all news to me.”

As for Ashlee, she’s been less deflective of the rumors, telling NBC’s “Today” show on Friday only the passing months will reveal whether or not she is with child.

“That’s been going around for a year now. Only time will tell with that,” she said.

Further fueling the rumor mill, Ashlee spent the week posing for pictures in loose fitting tops.
