Celebs On Barack Obama Clinching The Democratic Presidential Nomination

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Hollywood appears to be rallying around Barack Obama, as the Illinois Senator got one step closer to the White House when he became the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Tuesday night.

When news spread that Obama had surpassed the magic delegate number of 2,118, Hollywood weighed in on the historic moment in American politics.

“I’m extremely proud . This is an amazing moment in history. It’s a beautiful thing that’s going on,” actress and singer Christina Milian told Access Hollywood at the launch party for Op clothing Tuesday night. “I hope it also inspires a lot of the young people to do good things for this world, for their own children.”

Kristin Cavallari said her busy acting schedule does not allow for much time for politics, but she supports the first-term senator.

“Obama seems like a really cool genuine guy, which I think is hard to find nowadays in a president,” she said.

Rumor Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, admitted she is still learning about the candidate but she appreciates the presidential hopeful.

“I do have to say I’m a bit of a fan of Obama’s,” Rumor Willis said.

Pete Wentz told Access Tuesday was all about one letter.

”‘O’ is the word of the day! Oranges, obstetricians, Obama, Ocean Pacific,” Wentz said.

“High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu was pleasantly surprised with the Barack.

“I’ve been a fan of Obama since the beginning, so I’m pretty stoked,” he told Access.

“Private Practice” star Kate Walsh also commented on Obama’s presumed nomination.

“I think this is a great movement in American history,” she told Us Weekly. “The American people want a change in their government and Barack Obama is the best person to lead and serve and bring about the real changes people want. I am thrilled.”

The political excitement was not just limited to Hollywood however. News that Obama would battle McCain for the White House also thrilled celebs abroad.

“I’d like to say that we have a hero-in-the-making back in the United States today,” George Lucas told reporters at a press conference for “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” in Tokyo, Japan. “We have a new candidate for President of the United States, Barack Obama, who I think, for all of us that have dreams and hopes, is a hero.”
