5 Ways To Wake Up Gorgeous!

In today’s Glam Slam feature: Happy Friday! I am so ready to sleep in this weekend and the brand new InStyle offers up plenty of inspiring ways to put the “beauty” into beauty sleep.

Here are a few time saving tips to work into your bedtime routine — you’ll wake up gorgeous!

Sleep On It

Gwyneth Paltrow’s signature chignon is actually pulling double duty. Try this tip from Paltrow’s stylist: pin your hair into a nape-grazing style (like the photo of Gwyneth above, on the left) and then sleep it on for a relaxed next-day look that you wear down (like the photo of Gwyneth above, on the right). Unlike braids, which make hair a little kinky, a loose bun that’s left in all night creates lust-worthy waves with little effort.

Snooze Soundly

Save the club tracks for the weekend. Sleep experts show that certain sounds, such as calming waves or orchestral music, help you both fall and stay asleep. Pick a soothing soundtrack and wake up refreshed.

Sweat It Out

Fake a facial by hitting the sauna or steam room after your evening workout. The heat is a natural detox and will help you wake up with smoother, glowing skin. For an extra boost, follow your sweat session with a mild scrub and rich moisturizer before turning in.

Stroke & Coat

Shave some time off your morning routine by skipping conditioner. Instead, opt for a leave-in treatment before bed, which will make your hair much softer as it has more time to penetrate the strands.

Power Up Your Pillow

Fight wrinkles when you sleep by investing in a satiny pillowcase with copper-oxide fibers. The copper-oxide fibers release ions, which promote healing and growth enzymes.
