A ‘Black-Ty’ Affair: Tyrese Releases Rap Album

WASHINGTON (December 19, 2006) — As a famous model and actor, Tyrese would probably have no trouble getting into a club. But as a musician — that’s another story.

That’s one of the reasons he says he got into rap music. He’s released a new double CD, which features both rap andR&B music.

He says he got into rap because he enjoys being at clubs and watching people party and his music has “never been a part of that energy.”

He says his rap persona “Black-Ty” would say things that “Tyrese would never say.”

Even though his rap personality is outspoken, he tries to take a humble approach to his rhyming.

He actually asked other rappers what they thought about his rapping. He says so far, he has “yet to have one person” who didn’t give him their blessing.

The album, “Alter Ego,” drops today.
