Aaron Taylor-Johnson Talks ‘Ultron’ & ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’: ‘I’m Super Proud’ Of My Wife

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is married to “Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson, and the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” star said he was impressed by Sam’s work in the “Fifty Shades” trailer that was released this week.

“I loved it, man,” Aaron told Access Hollywood’s Scott Mantz at Comic-Con 2014 in San Diego. “[I’m] super proud of Sam – she has done an awesome job.”

The 24-year-old star said the movie (starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan) isn’t completely finished, but it’s getting there.

“They are still working on it in the edit room — cutting and music… but it’s amazing,” he said. “I think the trailer is good.”

As for Aaron’s career, he’s joined Marvel’s ranks, playing Quicksilver in the upcoming “Avengers” sequel, “Age of Ultron.”

The actor was a big fan of the first “Avengers” film, and said fellow fans can expect the franchise to keep getting bigger and better.

“They are building an empire, literally, like the Romans right now— just spreading across and they are gonna conquer for sure!” he said. “With this one, there is a dark story that taps into everyone’s fears, that’s more important than Tony Stark and, you know, we have been on the edge with him, we’ve been on the brink with him, you know with the three [‘Iron Man’] movies and ‘The Avengers.’

“That’s what’s great with ‘The Avengers’ is these characters, you have invested so much time into them, and you just wanna see that progress and grow,” he continued. “And when they fall, you are with them, and when they get up, you are with them.”

And the Joss Whedon-helmed film feels like an even bigger blockbuster than the first one, according to the actor.

“This is epic – it’s a bigger cast, it’s got a lot more energy, dark, with that great brilliant humor to it,” he said. “It’s good fun, it’s gonna be great.”

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
