Access Exclusive: Clark Duke To ‘Kick-Ass’ With McLovin

The last time Clark Duke and Chris Mintz-Plasse – better known as McLovin — were on screen together, Clark called him a badass. Now, they’re both going to “Kick-Ass.”

“I’m leaving in a week or two to shoot ‘Kick-Ass,’” Clark revealed exclusively to AccessHollywood.com backstage at the MTV VMAs on Sunday. “I just saw Chris. It’s the first time I saw him since I closed the deal, so I’m pretty excited.”

“Greek” star Clark made a cameo appearance at the end of Chris’ “Superbad,” where audiences may remember him announcing “McLovin’s a badass!” as the cops (Seth Rogen and Bill Hader) dragged him away.

The young stars will share the screen with Nicolas Cage, who was also recently cast in the upcoming film. The movie is an adaptation of a comic book written by Mark Millar, the scribe behind “Wanted.”

But a reunion with fellow “Superbad” star Michael Cera may be a ways off, though the best friends co-starred in CBS web series “Clark and Michael” in 2007. Clark says the short-lived show won’t be back.

“Never ever,” he said. “CBS owns ‘Clark and Michael’ and they never asked us to do any more and didn’t like the show, I don’t think.”

The show, which followed fictionalized versions of the actors trying to write and sell a script in Los Angeles, was a labor of love for Clark and Michael.

“The show was just real things that happened to me and Mike because we were trying to write something and eating in diners,” he said.

And while he’s busy with “Kick-Ass” and other films including teen comedy “Sex Drive,” out October 17, and “A Thousand Words” with Eddie Murphy, due next spring, he says it’s only a matter of time until the friends are together again.

“We’ve been on the other sides of the country shooting movies for the past year but I feel like it’s bound to happen.” he said.
