Access Exclusive: Jane Lynch Reacts To ‘Three Stooges’ Casting!

Jane Lynch is bringing a little religion to “The Three Stooges.”

The Emmy-winning “Glee” superstar will take on the role of Mother Superior in the upcoming Farrelly Brothers film, a rep for 20th Century Fox confirmed to Access Hollywood on Thursday.

Jane will play nun who runs the orphanage where the “Stooges” – Moe, Larry and Curly — grow up, and she is thrilled to be a part of the film!

“I’m looking forward to the many eye pokes I will undoubtedly be receiving,” Jane said in an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, “24” star Chris Diamantopoulos is believed to be the favorite to play Moe, while Sean Hayes has already been announced as Larry and Will Sasso will play Curly.

Production on the film – which will reportedly be broken up into three individual half-hour vignettes — is set to begin in May.

In other Jane Lynch news, the actress will host VH1’s star-studded “Do Something Awards” for a second year, it was announced on Thursday.

The annual awards honors community service where nominees and winners represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause, or issue.

The 2011 VH1 “Do Something Awards” will be held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and will premiere Thursday, August 18 at 9 PM EST.
