‘Access Hollywood’ Poll Reveals Viewers’ Support For Mel

81% WOULD GO SEE ANOTHER ONE OF HIS MOVIES AND 63% BELIEVE HE IS NOT ANTI-SEMITIC

BURBANK, Calif. (August 4, 2006) — An Access Hollywood poll reveals viewers’ support for Mel Gibson.

In two Access Hollywood polls conducted this week, over 5,000 viewers logged on to AccessHollywood.com to give their opinions on Mel Gibson after he was charged this week with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol and acknowledged making anti-Semitic slurs during the arrest.

In the first poll, which asked viewers whether or not they would go see another Mel Gibson movie, 81% responded “Yes” while 19% responded “No.” (5,823 Viewers polled)

The second poll asked viewers whether or not they believe Mel Gibson is anti-Semitic and 63% responded “No” while 37% responded “Yes.” (5,542 Viewers polled).
