Adam Lambert Talks Not Looking For Real Love & Making Out With The Ladies For Fun

Adam Lambert may be on a quest to take over the world, but the “American Idol” runner-up isn’t looking for a man to join him on his journey and in his heart — at least, not yet.

“My heart craves that,” he told the U.K.‘s Times newspaper, referring to a long-term relationship. “But now is not the time for it. So in the meantime I’m gonna have fun. I love a torrid affair.”

And the singer said he’s not opposed to lip locking with one or two of his female fans, despite being gay.

“I’m openly gay so they know I’m not going to have sex with a woman — although,” he told the mag with a pause, “ I like making out with girls from time to time. I have this curiosity at the back of my mind. I’ve never had sex with a woman and I’m a little bit curious about it.”

The “For Your Entertainment” singer said the man people have fallen for to the tune of more than 500,000 records sold, according to the newspaper, isn’t just an image, it’s the real Adam.

“It’s not a character I’m hiding behind,” he said. “I’m vain and I like looking hot and pretty. But I’m not that confident. I used to be scared to take risks and I was scared of rejection.”

In fact, as a young man in high school, Adam said he was chubby, suffered from acne and had trouble fitting in.

“The minute puberty set in I became this bizarre ugly duckling weird kid that didn’t have any friends,” he admitted.

Nowadays, the former “ugly duckling” gets compliments all the time, and not surprisingly, he still takes them with a grain of salt.

“It is nice to get reinforcement from friends, strangers, other artists going, ‘What you’re doing is groundbreaking’,” he said. “But it’s hard to hear grand statements like that. I’m the same guy that’s been kicking around LA for eight years.”
