Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey Address Third Oscars Host Rumors

Alec Baldwin is hoping the rumors are true – that he and Steve Martin will be joined by a third host at the Oscars this coming March.

When the “30 Rock” star stopped by Access Hollywood’s platform at the Screen Actors Guild Awards earlier on Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, he said it would be an excellent move to bring a third person into the mix.

“No one told me, but if it’s true, that’d be great. I’d be elated,” he told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson.

In fact, his “30 Rock” co-star Tina Fey is one of the names that has been bandied about as the potential third host.

But when asked on Access’ platform by Alec himself if the rumors were true, Tina shot them down.

“I might come, but I ain’t hostin’,” she said.

When Shaun suggested either Tina or another one of her “30 Rock” co-stars, Tracy Morgan, should join the Oscars hosting mix, Tina said Tracy would be the better choice.

“In the year of ‘Precious,’ you need Tracy up there,” she said.

“In the year of crazy, dysfunctional African-American dramas, we need Tracy to co-host the Oscars,” Alec added.

But while Tina may not be ready for Oscars, plenty of stars would love to see her at Hollywood’s biggest night, including Justin Timberlake.

“Tina’s brilliant,” Justin said. “She did brilliant writing on ‘SNL.’ The second time I hosted, she was a writer there. ‘30 Rock’ speaks for itself. She’s outstanding so I think you can’t lose with Tina.”
