Alexander Skarsgard: Eric Kissing Pam On True Blood Was A ‘Little Awkward’

There have been some unique moments on Season 5 of “True Blood,” but perhaps the one that has captured fans’ attention the most was seeing Kristin Bauer van Straten’s Pam hook up with Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric Northman.

“Little awkward,” Alexander told AccessHollywood.com (ahead of his “True Blood” autograph signing appearance at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego on Saturday) of having Eric kiss his progeny Pam.

“I think that’s why there’s no sex scene,” Alex added, of why producers showed Eric kiss Pam, before cutting to them in bed, minus the typical “True Blood” between-the-sheets action. “[My character has] such paternal feelings for her… that’s why all you see is the foreplay and then cut to…

“You never see that on the show! If there’s sex on the show, you usually see the whole act, but I think that was a reason that the writers couldn’t really put that in there because our relationship is so different and so deep, but on a platonic level,” Alex said.

In addition to the Pam/Eric flashbacks, there have been some interesting Eric/Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) scenes, with the two former foes banding together to find Russell Edgington and bring him to the Vampire Authority, something the characters accomplished this past Sunday.

“I got so excited when I read the first couple of episodes this year, you know, realizing that we’re going to have Butch Cassidy/Sundance Kid moments,” he told Access. “It’s almost been too fun. We’ve enjoyed it a little bit too much. We’ve got to realize that it’s still dangerous. We can’t go too crazy with it.”

“True Blood” airs Sunday nights at 9PM on HBO.
