Aly Raisman Not Embarrassed By Parents’ Enthusiasm; Plans To Go On Post-Olympic Shopping Spree

Gymnast Aly Raisman’s parents gained notoriety of their own during the London Olympics, after a video of their spirited reaction to their daughter’s performance went viral.

While some 18 years olds may have hung their heads in shame watching their parents’ cheers and grimaces make the Internet rounds, Aly said she thought it was adorable.

“They were definitely more nervous than I was,” Aly – a member of Team USA’s Fierce Five — told Kit Hoover and guest co-host Garcelle Beauvais on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I wasn’t embarrassed – I think it’s really funny. I showed my coaches and they were laughing a lot.”

Adding, “I did not know that they got that nervous and they were that crazy when they were watching me! So, I think it’s really cool.”

Now that she’s home from the Olympics – gold medal in tote – Aly is ready to relax and splurge a bit.

“I really wanna go shopping and buy a lot of clothes,” Aly said, when asked how she plans to celebrate her Olympic success. “I have Ralph Lauren as a sponsor, so I really love their clothes. They outfit me sometimes, so I love all their stuff… and I also like Bloomingdales!”

And, like fellow Team USA Olympian Ryan Lochte, Aly would like to give acting a shot.

“I think being on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ would be really cool,” she said. “Or just doing a TV show for a guest appearance or doing a music video. Something like that.”
