The British attorney (in Britain an attorney is called a barrister) was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She’s studied law at Oxford University and the New York University School of Law. She’s also fluent in French, Arabic and English.

Amal counts a slew of headline-making individuals as her clients, including WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and U.N. Security General Kofi Annan, who she served as an advisor in regards to relations with Syria. While studying at NYU, she was a student law clerk for now-Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor.

She’s Savvy In the World Of Social Media
