Amanda Bynes Speaks Out: ‘I Am Doing Amazing’

Amanda Bynes is speaking out following a slew of headline-making incidents and multiple run-ins with authorities.

“I am doing amazing,” the 26-year-old actress told People.

The actress, who last appeared on the big screen in 2010’s “Easy A,” says she’s done with Hollywood.

“I am retired as an actor. I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line,” she told the mag.

As for her alleged DUI incident, Bynes claims she does not drink.

“I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don’t drink, and I don’t drink and drive,” she continued. “It is all false.”

As previously reported on Access Hollywood.com, Bynes was stopped by police and cited for driving with a suspended license near the Bob Hope Airport, in Burbank, Calif., on Sunday. After it was discovered that Bynes’ license had been suspended, she was issued a citation and her car was impounded, but she was not arrested.

The actress’ driving privileges were suspended after she was charged with hit-and-run in connection with two traffic crashes, one on April 10 and another on August 4.

The first alleged hit-and-run incident came just days after she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, to which Bynes pleaded not guilty.

In 2010, Bynes first announced that she was done with Hollywood, Tweeting, “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem… If I don’t love something anymore I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it… I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first.”
