Amber Heard & Johnny Depp Agree To Settle Divorce Case; Restraining Order Dismissed

Johnny Depp
and Amber Heard’s bitter legal drama may be over for good.

The
estranged couple has agreed to settle
their divorce, Access Hollywood learned on Tuesday.

According to
reps for both parties’ legal teams, Heard’s lawyers also filed papers to dismiss her
temporary restraining order and domestic abuse allegations against Depp.

Following
the news, Heard and Depp issued a joint statement to Access announcing that they had
“agreed to resolve their divorce proceeding privately” and they would
have nothing further to say on the matter publicly.

“Our relationship was intensely
passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love,” the statement
began.

Adding, “Neither party has made
false accusations for financial gain. There was never an intent of physical or
emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for
Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the
divorce to a charity.”

Days after
filing for divorce in May, Heard accused Depp of being physically violent
during a fight in their Los Angeles condo — a claim which Depp has denied, according to the AP. In
addition, the outlet reported that police did not find any evidence of the
crime in question.

A hearing on the case scheduled to
begin on Aug. 17 is now off the calendar. Earlier this
month, Depp’s attorney Laura Wasser said in
court that the ordeal was “weighing heavily” on the actor.

Heard’s attorneys Samantha Spector and Joseph P. Koenig told Access in another statement that they are “very pleased” with the outcome and that their client “has been vindicated in the Court of Public Opinion.”

They went on to say that the case was “incredibly challenging and demanding on everyone involved,” also praising Heard for her “grace and strength under fire” and having been an “honor” to represent.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, Los Angeles Superior Court could not immediately confirm the exes’ divorce settlement.

Access
continues to reach out to Depp’s attorney for comment on the abuse allegations.
