American Horror Story: Sarah Paulson On Playing Jessica Lange’s Daughter In Coven

An “American Horror Story: Coven” Executive Producer (Tim Minear) recently told reporters that the fun quotient was going to be higher on the latest installment of the FX drama and at the Emmys cocktail party in Los Angeles on Monday, Sarah Paulson explained why.

“I think you’ve got a lot kick ass female actresses – Kathy Bates, Patti LuPone, Angela Bassett — all of those incredible women,” Sarah told Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the event.

“I think when you get [that] many diva, brilliant actresses in one room, it’s liable to be a lot of fun. That, or a crazy ‘Dynasty’ catfight. We’ll see what happens,” she added.

Returning for the newest installment of “American Horror Story” alongside Sarah is Jessica Lange. Jessica is playing Fiona, a witch and the mother of Sarah’s character, Cordelia.

Sarah remained mum when Access asked her if Cordelia will be a witch too, but she did hint at the family drama coming up between the two characters.

“Who doesn’t want Jessica Lange to be their mom? She’s an extraordinary mother in real life and I feel very honored, although the relationship is decidedly less pleasant than the one that she has with her own child. It is ‘American Horror Story’ after all,” she said.
