‘American Idol’ Bids Adieu To Chikezie

“American Idol” sent another contestant home on Wednesday night.

The evening began with Chikezie being the first “Idol” called up by Ryan Seacrest and immediately sent to the stools as a part of the bottom three.

Brooke White, however, who had to restart “Every Breath You Take” on Tuesday, was sent to safety.

Carly Smithson wasn’t on the receiving end of positive comments from the judges for her Bonnie Tyler cover of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” but she was sent to through to next week.

She also took the opportunity to clear up rumors that have been circulating on the Blogs.

”What rumors?” Ryan asked her.

“That I’m pregnant,” she said. “And, I’m not!”

Carly said she looked uncomfortable on stage Tuesday night (something Simon Cowell pointed out) because she was wearing Spanx — tightening ladies under garments.

David Archuleta was also put through followed by another David — rocker, David Cook.

Syesha Mercado, however, was sent to the bottom three, joining Chikezie on the bench.

Australian Michael Johns, who took on Queen, was sent next to the safe bench, as host Ryan noted that Dolly Parton will mentor the “Idol’s” next week.

Ramiele Malubay performed sick on Tuesday, but her cold didn’t impede her from making it through to the next round.

Also sent through to the top 9 was Kristy Lee Cook who spent the last two weeks in the bottom three. Jason Castro was sent to the bottom three though.

“I was freaking out all day,” he said, before Ryan let him off the hook and sent him back to safety.

In the end, it was Chikezie who was sent home.
