‘American Idol’ Contestants React To Jermaine Jones’ Disqualification

“American Idol” fans and contestants alike were shocked when Jermaine Jones was sent packing from the FOX reality competition on Wednesday for having four active warrants.

AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman caught up with many of the remaining “Idol” hopefuls, who weighed in on his departure, something they said they found out about with the rest of America.

“We found out tonight, when everyone was watching it,” Colton Dixon, 20, said. “He handled himself so well. He has a past, everyone does.”

“We didn’t know any of the details at all. Our brains were going nuts, wondering what was going to happen. We love him,” Elise Testone added. “I really felt good about the way that it was handled.”

Contestant Deandre Brackensick, 17, was stunned by his departure.

“It was shocking, I’m still tripping over that,” he told Laura. “[But,] it’s better have to people know why.”

Shannon Magrane, 16, was sad to see Jermaine go.

“We never really got a chance to say good-bye, which was really upsetting,” she added. “We were so in shock.”
