Amy Poehler Gets NBC Deal; Parks And Recreation Renewed For Season 7

The future is looking bright at NBC for Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler, but not so much for Michael J. Fox.

NBC entertainment president Robert Greenblatt said Sunday that Poehler’s “Parks & Recreation” will be back for a seventh season next fall. NBC has also signed a production deal with Poehler, the show’s star, and committed to making a pilot for a comedy about older people that Poehler is writing. Poehler won a Golden Globe for best comedy actress.

Greenblatt, at a news conference, couldn’t hide his disappointment with the performance of Michael J. Fox’s Thursday comedy, although he made no official comment about its prospects beyond this year.

He said NBC may move it around its schedule, but he doesn’t know if that will help its poor ratings.
