Amy Schumer Jokes About Sending Ricky Gervais Back To England: ‘It’s Time’

Amy Schumer has had “enough” of Ricky Gervais!

The “Trainwreck” star was honored with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy on Friday night, and reportedly told the crowd during her acceptance speech that she’s ready for the native Brit to return across the pond.

“I want to thank the Brits, in general, I love your comedy, it’s a huge part of my sensibility,” she said, according to People.

Amy then rattled off a list of her favorite British imports, including the “Office” mastermind, the mag reported.

“All of my favorite actors are British – Tyrion Lannister, the baby dragons,” she joked, adding, “Thank you, thank you for Ricky Gervais. I mean, he is amazing!”

However, Amy reportedly continued with the suggestion that the “Derek” star has overstayed his welcome here in the States.

“But I feel that we’ve been spoiled with him, and I think it’s time for you to take him back … enough is enough,” she joked, presenting the audience with a way to contribute to her newest cause.

“So, if you look under your seats you will find envelopes where you can donate to the ‘Send Ricky Gervais Back’ fund,” she said.

The 34-year-old might have to wait a little while for her wish to come true.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Ricky is set to host January’s Golden Globe Awards for a fourth time – a gig many of Amy’s fans likely hope to see in her future.

The prestigious Britannia award could have gotten her one step closer.

Other honorees at the star-studded event, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, include Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, Orlando Bloom, James Corden and Sam Mendes.

According to People, the breakout comedienne took a pause from her humor to express gratitude for the incredible year she’s had, and all the recognition that’s come with it.

“I never had a back-up plan, I just wanted to make people laugh,” Amy said. “Getting recognized for that is more kindness than I’m comfortable with.”
