An Alien’s Dream? ‘Roasted’ William Shatner

In Hollywood, there?s one way to tell if your friends really love you. When they throw a party in your honor, and then insult you, using the most vile language imaginable.

It?s called a “roast” and this weekend, it was Captain Kirk?s turn.

?It was brutal, wow, that was a tough thing to do,? William Shatner told Access Hollywood. ?Why did I do that??

Shatner wore a tux jacket and a much-needed thick skin for his Comedy Central roast that will air at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Shatner?s Star Trek pals George Takei and Nichelle Nichols joined Bill?s other friends, including, Jeri Ryan ? who looked stunning in Carolina Herrera ? and Farrah Fawcett, who appeared uncomfortable posing for photographers.

?This is going to be a delicious evening,? laughed George, aka Mr. Sulu.

And if for some reason, Shatner was a no-show, then there were some Captain Kirk copycats available.

Like Kevin Pollack, who does a dead on Shatner impression.

Kevin has competition, however, as a Shatner impersonator from roastmaster Jason Alexander.

?I have the small nuances, very small things,? Jason laughed. ?It’s the change in the eyes. It’s little head moves.?

And the key to doing Shatner?

?Don’t do it in front of me, that’s the key,? Bill laughed.
