Anchorman 2 Gets A Release Date

“Anchorman” fans won’t have to wait too long for Ron Burgundy’s big screen return.

The highly anticipated sequel will hit theaters next year!

“It’s official. Anchorman 2 has a release date: December 20, 2013,” “Anchorman” director Adam McKay Tweeted Wednesday night. “Very excited.”

Judd Apatow, who produced the original film in 2004, also chimed in about the news, writing, “One year from tomorrow Anchorman 2 will be in theaters!! It is kind of a big deal.”

Earlier this month, Paul Rudd confirmed to Access Hollywood that all of the “Anchorman” stars had signed on to return.

“We’re all coming back – it starts shooting in the spring,” he told Access at the “This Is 40” premiere last week. “I’m very excited for it.”

“That’s why my hair looks like John Taylor from Duran Duran right now,” he added with a laugh, of growing out his locks to reprise his role of Brian Fantana. “By the time we start shooting ‘Anchorman,’ hopefully it’ll be in a place that will fit the time period.”
